New Starbucks coming to Dawley Farms
Starbucks Coffee Co. plans to open a stand-alone location at Dawley Farm Village. The new coffee shop will be in the center of the development, near Dakota Vision Center and behind the new retail center that just opened with Buff City Soap, Cooks & Bakers Kitchen, Crumbl Cookies and a nail salon.
“Starbucks definitely sees Dawley Farms as a logical new location,” said Raquel Blount, vice president of commercial real estate at Lloyd Cos., who represents Dawley Farm Village.
"It’s a strong, established shopping center base, so there’s core traffic and a nice captive audience of nearby residents at The Carlton and Dublin Square. With the new office activity, Avera Health and Active Generations coming nearby, there’s probably enough population to support a Starbucks just within the Dawley development itself, not to mention all the nearby housing growth.”
The new Starbucks will include a drive-thru and indoor and outdoor seating. It’s scheduled to be open later this year.
Starbucks also has a small location inside the Dawley Farms Target store.
The new retail deal is the latest in a strong year of activity for Dawley Farms, Blount said.
In addition to the new retail center’s tenants, Pizza Hut announced a lease, SafeSplash Swim School opened, Blue Tide Car Wash has started construction and Modern Dental plans a new location in the development.
“Retailers and service providers across the spectrum see the appeal of this area,” Blount said. “Combined with the recent announcement that the state of South Dakota will build a significant office here, we’re seeing strong interest in the remaining lots. We estimate there’s about 14 acres available and we’re seeing activity from both large retailers and service uses.”
