Introducing the 2017 color of the year

Looking for the perfect shade to update your house or apartment?

Our friends at Sherwin Williams suggest their 2017 color of the year: Poised taupe.

Simply put, it’s grey meets brown with an explosion of warmth.

Poised taupe “creates a cozy lifestyle and brings a sense of sanctuary into our homes,” according to Sherwin Williams.

“It diffuses the stresses of the world outside our doors — so much so that we feel restored and in balance when we walk across our threshold.”

It’s a color designed to create a sense of coziness and warmth. Think candlelight, a toasty drink and the company of family and friends.

Sounds perfect for this fall season, doesn’t it?

You can find Poised Taupe SW 6039 at Sherwin Williams. We love having them at Dawley Farms!

And the best thing about the 2017 color of the year is everything it complements.

Sherwin Williams predicts we will see faded indigo and lighter cornflower hues pair with modern white and Poised Taupe “for a charming palette, reminiscent of the French countryside.”

Then there’s an “organic reimagined” look created with vegetal green, citrus green, weathered bronze and mustard yellow.

And that’s only the start of the possible combinations! To see more, click here.

And once you’ve put on that new coat of paint, it might be time to furniture shop! Take a look at these fall looks from Ashley Furniture. We might be biased, but we think they would look great with Poised Taupe.

Happy decorating!
